 Carvena "Shun" Harris who considers herself an intrinsic humanitarian, has been selected as the Advisory Director of Help The Poor International. A role she indubitably accepted due to her passion and commitment to promote the welfare and growth in every facet of wellness for people all over the world. She is dedicated to advocating for the less fortunate and being a voice for those unseen and unheard. Possessing a strong sense of altruism and desire to create opportunities for all people to live optimum lives, she recognized Help The Poor International's mission encompasses and shares her vision of meeting the needs of those globally who are less privileged by providing viands and other tangible and intangible resources. As Advisory Director she is dedicated to the progression of Help The Poor International to operate in various countries in the future, generate revenue to ensure the consummation of the mission, and to become one of the world's leading independent organizations for those living in destitute conditions or at an overall disadvantage. 
Before joining Help The Poor International, Carvena has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate, CASA, which are volunteers appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they do not get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Currently, she is a co-organizer for Los Angeles, California NAACP Anti-Bullying Teen Summits held at various high schools throughout the Los Angeles area bringing awareness and educating students, educators, and the community on the bullying widespread. Coupled with her involvement since 2009 with ACT-SO, The Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological, and Scientific Olympics achievement program designed to recruit, stimulate, and encourage high academic and cultural achievement among African-American high school students. Carvena completed her B.A. and Masters in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Tx. Although a Dallas native, she currently resides in Los Angeles, California where she owns an entertainment company with a focus in talent development/management and production; her company motto "Building Character & Character" is the quintessence of her overall vision in her daily life. She is an avid traveler-and has graced nearly every continent in the world with the hopes of someday visiting the moon.
